When you are in the mood of listening to ghazals and enjoy lip smacking food at the same time, then Sasuraal is the place to be at. They are doing justice to the name “Sasuraal” by the offering the great hospitality. Located in the busy market of sector 29, this place offers the decent ambiance along with the fantastic food. I was there on a weekday for the lunch with few of my friends. It was raining in that day so we had opted for the indoor sitting.
The ambiance is very neat and interiors are well designed. They have a variety of sitting options ranging from chairs to couches. They do offer the buffet which has a huge spread focused on the Indian and mughlai cuisine.
We started off with Dahi ke Sholay and Dahi ke Kebab. Both were well prepared and had the decent flavor. Paneer ke tofe was actually the paneer tikka, which had perfect marination.
The Paneer was soft and the taste was amazing. Crispy corn was deep fried corns which had nice texture.
Murg Malmal Kebab was the best preparations for that day. Tender chicken pieces were too soft to hold in hold. The taste was phenomenal and quality was perfect. Lahori Seekh was the mutton Seekh Kebab which were average. The taste and quality could have been better.
Mutton galauti Kebab was soft and delectable. The roti on which it was served was delicious and it had the sweet hint which gave it a nice flavor.
In main course, we tried various options for both veg and non veg. Methi Malai Mutter had the cashew gravy with Methi hint cooked along with fresh green peas. Mushroom Hara Pyaz was perfectly cooked mushrooms with spring onions and Indian spices. Taste was fantastic and the texture was perfect. Sarso ka Saag was flawless and had the authentic taste. Tried it with Makki ki roti and the combination was amazing.
Mutton Rogan Josh was definitely their one of the best preparations. The right mix of spices along with the perfectly cooked mutton gave it a divine flavor. The texture was excellent and it went really well with the hot laccha paranthas.
I tried Gulkand wali kheer, Gulab Jamun and Gajrela in desserts. The kheer had the Gulkand which is one of my favorite and it was a good combination to try. Gajrela and Gulab Jamun were average, nothing specific which I should mention.
Verdict : Sasuraal is a decent place to try the north Indian and mughlai food. They offer the buffet spread which is quite reasonable for the options they have. The gazal music being played here is their USP and they do have live events scheduled from time to time.
